Personally I think someone was really, really, really bored *nod*
It's how the Natives in the area would communicate. It will tell how well the hunting was in the area, what they were hunting, the number of people that have come across the area, etc. The wheel makes me wonder if it was when the pioneers started to cross, but who is to say for sure.
